ASHE Dinner Meeting – Connected Work Zones

Guest Speaker Mark Buckalew, P.E., DelDOT’s Chief of Construction & Materials, will speak about how the world of electronic construction (eConstruction) continues to expand, DelDOT has been making extensive strides to provide a safer construction work zone. As we continue this effort, more capabilities continue to be realized through the data received from equipment and the use of artificial intelligence to streamline the project documentation. Currently, hot mix pavers, milling machines, and rollers are connected equipment providing data for the construction engineer and real time work zone notifications to the public through Waze. Come out and see the exciting updates from DelDOT in eConstruction!

Project of the Year Showcase

Key Dates:

• • September 06, 2024 – Notification of submission
  • October 04, 2024 – Submissions DUE

For those interested in the First State Section Project of the Year, the next Project Dinner Showcase will be November 13th, 2024. To be eligible, any project that is associated with highway/transportation that was (or will be) substantially completed by December 31, 2024 or no more than three months immediately prior (August 15, 2023) to the previous (2023) ASHE Project of the Year (Nov. 15, 2023).  The entry form and details are attached for all project teams interested in making a submittal.  All teams expecting to submit a project are asked to notify Eric Kramer, ekramer@tpdinc.com by September 6th, 2024. Actual submissions will be due to Eric Kramer by October 4th, 2024 so that we can prepare the team of judges and other arrangements.
